During the baseball playoffs last fall, my Uncle in Mahopac, originally from the South Bronx, would send little emails out regarding the Yankee’s prospects in the post season, e.g. how good Alex Rodriguez was looking or some such nonsense. He’s a smart guy and has been buying gold/ silver and storing food and wood well before the financial uncertainty hit. I’ve gotten an education from the financial articles he forwards on to his list, but the Yankee emails really began to irritate me.
I replied: “I am actually surprised that you can root for people who are the very ones which ran your family and mine from the South Bronx. Alex Rodriguez’s people took over our historic neighborhoods, collapsing your parent’s home equity, targeting you for assault and robbery, and forced you further away from your job in the city.”
That is the truth of it. I would love to live on the same streets that four generations of my have family lived on Alexander Ave and Morris Ave. But my family, my children, would be run out of there within weeks. They are war-zones for African and Mestizo gangs. They defecate in their elevators and stairwells of the places they live. They kill each other randomly and often. This is the reality of third-worlders in our lands. If you are actually reading this, you already know he situation.
I boycott professional sports (I will go to Ranger game, however). We root and cheer for people who, at the same time, ruin our neighborhoods and impoverish us with higher taxes and higher prices. We are prisoners in the suburbs, expensive enclaves which force both parents to work.
How utterly sad it is to see European men fans of professional sports.
